Subject: PPCC and Home School Students

Hi, all

Pikes Peak Community College has opportunities for home school students! When searching for networks of home school students and parents in the Colorado Springs area, I found your names as network leaders. We are looking to work with a consortium of home school parents to disseminate and share information about two great programs.

The first is Post Secondary Enrollment Options (PSEO). In this program, students can take college courses here at PPCC and possibly earn dual credit. Typically, this if for students in 11 and 12 grades. Courses taken often count for both college credit as well as meeting requirements for high school graduation.

Another great opportunity is our Area Vocational Program. Here, students (again in 11-12 grades) participate in a career-technical focused area and are able to earn both college and high school credit. Our programs are listed below:

Automotive Collision Technology
Automotive Service Education
Computer-Aided Drafting
Computer Information Systems
Criminal Justice
Culinary Arts
Diesel Power Technology
Early Childhood Education
Fire Science
Medical—Careers (exploratory program of health careers and basic transferable medical knowledge)
Medical—Skills
Multimedia Graphic Design
Public Utility Technology
Radio and Television
Sign Language/Interpreter Prep
Welding
Zookeeping

I’d be happy to meet with a group or answer individual questions you may have. We’re excited to see how we can partner!

Thanks,

Chelsy Harris
