The Clark Brothers, Christian Homeschoolers win Next Great American Band

Hi Tabbi, sent this to the R2C2 co/op group but thought you might want to review it for the rest of the homeschooling community.

Blessings, CK

Hello all. This just brings Glory to God. American Idol last year had a counterpart show called The Next Great American Band (was not watched by millions because of being on Friday night). The winners were The Clark Brothers - three boys of 11 children whose father was a traveling tent evangelist/revival preacher. They started out in public school but ended up being homeschooled because they were on the road as a family ministry (learned this from a podcast interview).

They won the whole thing and are recording their first album. Their MySpace page has the song playing on it which they auditioned with and did on American Idol last week. Dolly Parton was on the same show and sang her new song "Jesus and Gravity". Just totally gave glory to God on that show - goosebumps! They will be performing this Wednesday on "Idol gives back" as well.

All their performances are on their MySpace page including interviews, etc. Very humble boys, VERY talented. There are about four videos on the page of their performances but all 10 performances are there.

They were jamming in the basement and decided to send a video in on the last day. Again, they won it all. If you watch the show episode where they win, they all fell prostate before the Lord, incredible.

Hope it blesses you as it has me. I never heard about them till I saw them on AI last week. Did some research on them after that.
