…ABOUT MEMBERSHIP IN LOS ALAMOS HOME EDUCATORS…
Los Alamos Home Educators (LAHE) is a loosely connected group of homeschooling families in Los Alamos and the surrounding area. Requirements for "membership" include only an interest in home-education and an annual fee to subscribe to one of the subscription options. These are currently:
Hard-copy of roster; e-group announcements $1 per year (covers cost of copying and cleaning supplies).
These forms of communication serve to keep members informed, networking them together, referring others new to homeschooling in our area, so LAHE can help them discover both the homeschooling community and other homeschooling families.
Over the past few years, the number of homeschoolers in our area has increased dramatically, and the membership in the Los Alamos Home Educators has increased as well. Although a majority of our members/subscribers are of the Christian faith, our homeschool community includes families with a wide range of beliefs and backgrounds; and thus, the e-mail list serves a diverse group. It is essential that any submissions to the e-mail keep this audience in mind. This in no way meant to discourage contributions or communication, but to emphasize objective and respectful content in all LAHE communications.
The membership/subscriber list of LAHE is considered a private list. Member information will not be disseminated by the e-mail moderators or by any of the members. Subscription to LAHE implies permission to publish a member's information in the annual roster, unless otherwise stated to the moderator or editor. Only paid members should possess the roster, and each member is expected to regard the privacy of any other member's personal information.

The LAHE e-group is an announcements only Yahoo! e-Group. It is maintained to distribute information that is pertinent to the local homeschooling community in a timely manner. It does NOT include message boards, chat rooms, or other means for dialog between members. The group has a restricted membership and does not appear in the Yahoo! directory. The LAHE e-group administrator is Heidi Narum, NarumHC@yahoo.com . She serves as the "information gate-keeper" for LAHE subscribers. The administrator and any moderators reserve the right to edit or refuse submissions. The names and e-dresses of all subscribers, with the exception of the administrator's and moderator's, are considered confidential; and are not to be distributed by any member, including the administrator and moderator. Another member's e-mail address should not be added to personal address books or used for any purpose, without the express consent of the address owner. Please respect the privacy of others.
