Albuquerque-Co-op Chorus information

My name is Melissa Daugherty and I am one of the coordinators of the FMC or Friday Morning Co-op that meets for the benefit of homeschoolers at Holy Child Parish during the school year. We are in our sixth year and are going strong, but we are in need of some high school aged students who are interested in singing in our high school chorus. Our chorus director is Lina Ramos, a very dynamic and gifted mezzo soprano who holds a master's degree in music education. In years past the chorus has put on productions of Gilbert and Sullivan operettas, the musical "The Princess and the Pea" and has sung at Coronado Mall for charitable fund raisers. We are down in numbers for our high school chorus this year (we also have an elementary aged chorus) because half the chorus graduated last spring! We would be happy to welcome any high school students who are interested in singing with us! No experience necessary!

Our high school chorus will start meeting on September 7th (Friday) from 9:00 - 10:00 A.M. at Holy Child Parish here in the East Mountains. The chorus fee is $5.00 per class per student for a total of $70.00 per student for the fall semester (we meet 14 times this fall). You are not committed to signing up for both semesters, but we will resume in the spring for 16 Fridays. We charge our co-op families a user fee of $50.00 a year to help Holy Child defray the costs of heating our building so we will ask any "guest students" to pay a $10.00 fee for the same use.
Jayne Neal has allowed me to let you know that her girls attend our elementary chorus and she is very happy with the program.
Please contact me, Melissa Daugherty, if you'd like to register your student or if you need more information. My email address is kk3mrj@aol.com and my phone is 286-8535.
God bless you,
Melissa
