Albuqueruque: The Box _Acting Classes for homeschoolers

Hi Tabitha,

Thank you very much for inviting us to your fair. We meet lots of nice people. We would like to be in any future fairs you have. If we get a class together maybe we could perform at the next one. I've included information about our upcoming classes, I have also attached the info in a pdf file. Thank you for help us spread the word.

Level 1 Introduction to Improv

Dip your toe into the joyous pool that is improv! This is the perfect place for absolute beginners to get acquainted with the art of short form improvisation. Every week you'll play in a safe and positive class environment, through group exercises and scenework. This Class will help kids become less self conscious/shy and better listeners. Explore improv theater in a relaxed and supportive environment. Play and have fun while exploring creativity. Have tons of fun interacting with other kids interested in improv and acting. Learn skills useful for life like think on your feet and public speaking.

Class limited to 12 students. Instructor: Alex Knight

No class on Sept 3

Ages 7-11 - 9:30 - 10:30

Ages 11 and older - 11:00 - 12:00



Level 1 Introduction to Acting

Learn the basics of theatre acting in a small, relaxed class. This class will include relaxation techniques, warmups, theatre games, and basic scenework. The games and exercises used in the class will help performers develop their acting tools such as expression, believablilty and focus while learning the basics of building characters and telling stories. Out of class work will be required. The class will culminate with a performance. Instructor: Kristin Berg

INSTRUCTORS

Alex Knight is a graduate of the University of New Mexico where he received his B.F.A. in Theatre . He taught Saturday drama camp at UNM as well as well improv at The Albuquerque Little Theatre. He is currently a member of The One Night Stanleys and is a member of Tricklock company.



Kristin K. Berg is a graduate of Eastern New Mexico University where she received her B.F.A. in University Theatre Studies. She has being doing youth and children's theatre in Albuquerque since graduation. Recently, she worked on "Schoolhouse Rock Live Jr." and "Alice in Wonderland" as assistant director. Past productions include: "Stuart Little," "There's a Boy in the Girls' Bathroom," and "Welcome to the Moon and Other Plays," which she directed and produced with students at the Public Academy for Performing Arts. Most recently she played Ms. Darbus in "Disney's High School Musical" and directed David Mamet's "The Frog Prince."
