Recent Information from Colleges
Colorado State has announced that they are now a Common Application school (http://www.commonapp.org), which may be the best option for students who are applying to other common app schools, otherwise students should use their regular institutional application online. CSU is implementing new admissions standards beginning with the class of 2008, though they emphasize that, at this point, they are standards, not absolute requirements, and applications will continue to receive a holistic review. Candidates are now encouraged to have at least a 3.25 GPA, four years of math, including one year beyond Algebra 2, and at least two years of a foreign language.

The Los Alamos Family YMCA is looking for fun and creative childcare workers to serve as assistant site directors and after-school counselors. Lifeguards and Instructors
LA County is hiring casual and temporary lifeguards and instructors. Students must be at least 16 years of age, have appropriate lifeguard certification, current First Aid and CPR training and, for the instructor position, must also have WSI certification. Casual guard position closes on 8/21, the others on 10/04. Information in Career Center or through LAC.
