Duke City Chorus to host ShowFest! 2007

Albuquerque, N.M. -- The Duke City Chorus (DCC) will host ShowFest 2007, a

competition of 13 show choirs representing high schools primarily from the

greater Albuquerque metropolitan area, on Friday April 20. The festival will be

held in the Kiva Auditorium in the Albuquerque Convention Center, with

preliminaries from 8:30am – 5:30pm and finals from 7:30-10pm. We anticipate

over 300 high school students will participate in the competition. Admission is $5

for each event (prelims and finals) or $8 for the entire day.

As a chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society, the Duke City Chorus has the

vision to "lead the cause of encouraging vocal music in our schools and

communities." To this end, the members of the DCC organize youth outreach

activities such as ShowFest as a service to our younger generation, our schools,

and our community.

the "Youth Outreach" link.
