Since I've been asked, I thought I better clarify. If you RSVP, but then cancel prior to the RSVP deadline, you will not have to pay.
Only if you RSVP and your family is included in the total numbers, determining the cost for everyone else, and you then have to cancel, will you still have to pay.
What the above means is that if you sign up for this event, but then there aren't enough people signed up by the RSVP deadline to make it affordable for you, as long as you take your name off the list by midnight on the 9th, you won't be counted in the totals.
