Posted: March 15, 2007

Old Town Plaza, Albuquerque NM The sounds of jazz and band standards will fill Albuquerque's historic Old Town Plaza ( map) and surroundings at Noon on Wednesday, March 28th when two ensembles from Colorado Christian University (CCU) perform a free concert for music lovers of all ages.

Presented in part by the Special Event section of the City of Albuquerque's Cultural Services Department, the noontime concert will feature the CCU Wind Ensemble (symphonic band) and Mainstream (big band jazz) playing a wide variety of music ranging from classical to light popular to sophisticated jazz, with symphonic band standards performed by the Wind Ensemble and toe-tappin' jazz favorites by Mainstream. This event is a part of a 10-day tour that takes these ensembles throughout Texas and New Mexico.

Come out and enjoy the music and the unique atmosphere of Old Town. And while there, enjoy lunch in one of the many restaurants and take in a bit of shopping at the many diverse shops.

Stay tuned for information on more jazz performances this summer with New Mexico Jazz Workshop concerts at The Albuquerque Museum and the New Mexico Jazz Festival in Old Town Plaza.
