PBS Show:Journey To Planet Earth:State of the World's Ocean Animals

Sea Notes Special Edition
March 27, 2007
This week we're raising awareness about threats to ocean wildlife
You can't begin to address the serious threats facing ocean wildlife until people become aware that the threats exist. So we're proud to let you know that, this week, we're a big part of two huge steps to raise public awareness.

On Tuesday, March 27—when millions of DVD copies of the Academy Award®-winning animated film Happy Feet went on sale—every copy carried a 2007 Seafood Watch pocket guide. Through our partnership with Warner Home Video, the pocket guide is also featured on the Happy Feet web site along with a public service announcement about problems related to overfishing. The PSA is also featured on the Happy Feet DVD.

Then, on Wednesday, March 28 our Sea Otter Research and Conservation program will be featured prominently in a new PBS program, Journey to Planet Earth: State of the World's Ocean Animals. The program, narrated by Matt Damon, will air on PBS stations nationally. You can learn more about the program and find out when it will air in your community.

Raising awareness is just one of the ways all of us at the Monterey Bay Aquarium work to assure a future with healthy oceans. Thanks for helping us to make a difference!
