Albuquerque: Kid Volunteers needed for American Heart Walk

Hey Kids! Volunteers are needed to stand on the sidelines and cheer
for the START! Heart Walk walkers.
The Heart and Stroke Walk promotes physical activity and heart-healthy living in an
exciting and fun family environment.
WHAT: 16th Annual Heart Walk and Stroke Fun Walk Chaired by Mayor Marty
5K (3 miles) non-competitive walk with live entertainment, food, health screenings,
Disney kid stage, educational vendor booths, adopt a dog booth, and more! Bring
your friends, family, and dogs and come celebrate our community’s heart disease
and stroke survivors, raise vital funds for education and research and learn how to
lower your risk for heart disease and stroke.
WHY: To save lives and lower New Mexicans’ risk of our nation’s and New Mexico’s No.
1 and No. 3 killers - heart disease and stroke. Funds raised benefit community
programs, education and lifesaving research. You can make a difference!
WHEN: March 29th 2008 – RAIN or SHINE! 9:00 am Start Time
WHERE: Albuquerque Academy’s Scenic Cross Country Trail
WHO: Everyone can participate! Corporate Teams, Family/Neighborhood Teams &
Volunteers. We anticipate over 1,000 walkers!
