Info: NEA Opposing Fed Budget Proposals for School Choice

As we all know the NEA is against homeschooling and any other form of parents being able to make a choice in their child's education. In this case they are sending a message to their membership to oppose some federal budget proposals for:



$300 million national voucher program with the misleading name “Pell Grants for Kids.”
an individual voucher program called “21st Century Opportunity Scholarships.”
Extend the District of Columbia “Opportunity Scholarship Program” scheduled to end this September.

And while this does not directly affect homeschoolers it affects our ability as parents to make a choice in our child's education. One day you might be looking to use vouchers for your child. The New Mexico Home School Community as an organization is a supporter of our freedom to make that choice, that we know what works and what does not for our kids. So send off an email to your representative or legislator with your thoughts on this issue.
