The December test dates are the last which may be used for admissions at University of California and most selective private schools.

PSAT Reminder
On Wednesday, October 17th, morning busses will run on their usual schedule for sophomores and juniors who will be taking the PSAT. Because of the early Wednesday dismissal at the elementary schools, the return busses will leave the high school between 12:30 and 12:45, although students will be done with the exam considerably before then. Students might want to bring a snack or lunch to have while they wait.

Rice Admissions Information Session
Laura Villafranca, Senior Assistant Director of Admission, will be at Mesa Public Library on Monday, October 15,7:00 pm to answer questions about admissions, academic programs, and scholarships.

Gates Millennium Scholars
Program is open to seniors who are African-American, Native American, Asian Pacific Islander-American, or Hispanic, have cumulative GPA of 3.3 (unweighted), and are eligible for Pell Grants as determined by FAFSA (usually family income of under $50,000).

Employment
Partially disabled woman seeks organizational help a few hours a week after school, primarily helping to organize home office files and making new files and file indices. Job involves using Microsoft Word on a laptop computer with Windows Vista to create file labels, file indices, etc. She is willing to do some training and will provide lots of guidance as to what she wants, needs someone who is conscientious, dependable and pays close attention to detail and accuracy. Not appropriate for someone allergic to cats, beginning pay $10.50 an hour, more based on experience. Since this involves working in her home, she is happy to have parents attend interview.
