Albuquerque: Library Internet Access for Children

The Library is pleased to offer a SafeHarbor that is composed of two databases of "Kid Friendly" URLs.
The SafeHarbor URLs have been previewed by LibraryGuardian to ensure that sites provide accurate and useful information as well as the very best entertainment for children between kindergarten and sixth grade.
By selecting SafeHarbor in a LibraryGuardian outfitted library, parents can comfortably allow their young children to explore the Internet and develop essential Internet skills using child-friendly websites.

* Organizes the Web with 14,000 carefully reviewed resources
* Useful for teachers, students ("kids" or "teens"), parents, or librarians

* A search engine/Web guide for children that includes 6000 Internet sites
* Database contributors add sites that they think kids (grades K-7) will find entertaining or enlightening
* Does not include any site with unsafe privacy features
* Does not include sites that celebrate evil, shock or scare, or advocate violence or hatred of other groups of people
