Resource: Learn along with a traveling HS Family!

Information via the Albuquerque Home Learners, www.abqhomelearners.org
Dear Fellow Homeschoolers,

From colonization to the Civil War – next year American History will come alive for the Taylor family, and we're hoping that you are up for an adventure too! We are a homeschooling family from Tennessee who has decided to spend 18 months on the road starting in March, bringing history to life and seeing the sites of this country. We would like to personally invite you, the homeschool community, to our website
http://www.driventoeducate.com to join us on this once-in-a-lifetime journey.
Through this website we’ll pass along how we homeschool on the road and specifically what we’re learning about American history. We’ll even provide
lesson plans and activity suggestions so that you can learn along with us! Our pictures will put you right in the middle of the action…watch yourstep as you climb aboard the Mayflower replica. Strap on a lifejacket and grab a paddle as we raft where Louis and Clark canoed. Spend a day ridingin a covered wagon on the Oregon Trail or panning for gold in California. The possibilities are endless! If you want your children to be excitedabout American History, then Driven to Educate is for you.
In addition to history lessons, we’ll also give you a first-hand account of what it’s like to trade in over 3000 square feet of living space for lessthan 300! If you’ve ever considered leaving it all behind and hitting the road, you won’t want to miss this! We’ll answer practical questions like: how do you stay connected (phone, TV, internet, mail, etc), how much does it cost to live on the road, do many other families fulltime, and mostimportantly, can a family be together 24/7 and still like each other at the end of the day? But don’t just read our account – check out our forum.

It’s a place for people who have travel or homeschool experience to share their knowledge with people who need guidance. We hope you will find the forum to be a wealth of interesting information. In the About Us section of our website you can read about our family and how we came to the decision to leave everything behind and travel fora year.

We’ll also share our testimony of how God has made the whole endeavor possible. You will be amazed at what He has done! We hope that our site will become a favorite resource for you as you teach your children about American history. We welcome your feedback andencourage your suggestions. As we travel we’ll be looking for suggestions from the “hometown folks” for the best places to eat, off the
beaten path attractions, and well-kept local secrets. We have always found the
homeschooling community to be very dependable and encouraging, and we are
counting on that now. We need your input! Come to the site and share your
travel tips or favorite history attractions. Or, if you live in one of the cities
that we’ll be passing through and would like to act as “tour guides” for a day, contact us! We would love the opportunity to make new friends around the country.

We are so excited to be able to take this trip! It is an amazing opportunity. We intend not only to make the most of it, but to share it with fellowadventurers who would love to go, but can’t. Come with us in spirit. Follow us on the web. It’s going to be a grand journey!

We ask that you would forward this information to your members as a potential resource and an opportunity for them to support another homeschooling
family. Thank you and God bless your homeschooling efforts.

Sincerely,
Dan and Jennifer Taylor
Mason and Griffin
