This arts workshop combines traditional are-making tools such as paint, markers, and pencils with technologies like motors, computers, and computer-programmable devices called PICO Crickets. Students combine materials in new ways to create multimedia art that integrates light, sound, and motion. Returning students will have a chance to build upon their skills as well as experience new projects. Activities include:

Explore light, shadow, and still photography
Experience the processes of animation and digital art
Use motors to create moving art pieces

Robo Task Force

Join other students with an interest in robotics! Each session of Robo Task Force will get you exploring the principles of robotics and programming robotic objects to complete a variety of tasks. Projects include:

Build gear boxes, circuit boards, simple motors, and mini robots.
Experiment with sensors and robotic locomotion in a team obstacle coarse
Use computer-programmable devices called PICO crickets to integrate motion, resistance, sound, and light

ESI: Explora Science Investigators
Grades 4-8
Mondays, 4:30-6:00

Each session of ESI features active exploration of interesting materials and student-designed questions and experiments. Students enjoy extended inquiry experiences and make friends with other science fans. Projects include:

Use siphon systems to investigate pressure, force, and flow
Analyze carbonated beverages and develop your own recipes as you practice measurement and estimation skills
Explore how viscosity and density are related to a variety of squishy substances
