FYI-It is new, but my children are not at this grade level for me to seriously check it out. They do offer the online courses that your child could take from home. Teresa

GENERAL INFORMATION
The Academy will offer core courses such as Math and English, as well as the opportunity for students to pursue electives not offered at Rio Rancho secondary schools, college-level concurrent enrollment and advanced classes, and make-up classes. The Cyber Academy offers highly individualized services to students. For example, students may take courses in the Academy’s 50-computer lab, or from a computer at their home. Some students may take a full course load, while others might attend regular classes at another school for part of the day and take courses through the Cyber Academy to round out their schedule.
Some courses at the Cyber Academy will feature live, real-time online interaction with a teacher through an audio link and instant messaging. This technology will be demonstrated at the open house. Other courses will be offered through more traditional, “anytime” online delivery. Students have the support of an instructor at the Cyber Academy facility and access to mentoring and tutoring.
The Cyber Academy will serve students in grades 7 - 12. Enrollment is open to students currently enrolled in Rio Rancho schools, as well as home-school students living in Rio Rancho who may wish to supplement their home-school curriculum with classes offered through the Cyber Academy.
There is a section of frequently asked questions and I pulled one out that was interesting since we were thinking of involving our kids in sports when they get older.
Can my child participate in extracurricular activities?
Yes, all students at RRCA remain eligible to participate in extracurricular activities, such as sports, prom, etc., at the school that maintains their eligibility.
