Art Jubilee

New Class Offerings for the spring

Starting Monday, February 12, 2007 Art Jubilee will be offering classes for the following ages. These classes will require that SOME supplies be purchased. These supplies will be available at the Art Jubilee studio on the first day of class. All classes are taught from a Christian, Biblical perspective. All classes will have additional “homework” that will be done by the students at home.

The following schedule will be effective until further notice.

Principles of Art: The second and fourth Monday of every Month starting at 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon.

This class is an on-going process of Drawing, Acrylic Painting, Water Color, Oil Pastels, Mixed Media and Design. This class will concentrate on developing basic to advanced art concepts, including Perspective, Aerial Perspective, Animal and nature drawing, Landscape drawing and painting, Elements and Principles of Design and of course Art History. We will also learn about some of the more influential artists through history.

This class is for beginner and intermediate art students ages 9 through adult.

Art for the New Beginner: The First and Third Monday of every Month starting at 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.

This class is an on-going process of beginning art concepts. It will include working in mixed media, tempra paint, water colors, oil and crayon resists, Basic shapes, Color and basic Color Theory, drawing skills and of course Art History. We will also learn about some of the more influential artists through history.

This class if for Beginner students ages 5 through 8. Students must be able to pay attention and take and follow instructions.

Pottery: This class will meet every Monday of each month from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.

This class will start out as a hand building class, it is intended however to be an on-going class that will lead into use of the potters wheel and advanced ceramic techniques. We will be creating utilitarian ceramics as well as objects d’Art. Students will also sculpt in both the additive and subtractive methods. Students will learn about different glazing techniques and weather permitting we may be able to also do some raku firing. We will also create certain basic glazes from raw chemicals following glaze recipes. We will also learn about some of the more influential ceramists through history.

This class is for beginner and intermediate students ages 9 through adult, with an interest in learning about the art of ceramics. This is not a slip mold or tole painting class.

NOTE: All classes are $12 per instruction hour, for the first student. The second student in a family is $10 per hour and third + students in a family is $8 per hour. The students do not have to be taking the same class for the multiple student family discount to be applied. When a student does not attend a class they are not charged for that class. Most, but not all, supplies are included. There will be a list of necessary supplies that should be purchased from Art Jubilee at the time of or before the first class.

All students are responsible for bringing all home work assignments, supplies and materials for which they are responsible, to class. Even though students are not graded in the traditional sense I believe that it is important for parents to know how their students are progressing and therefore I will send out a progress report every 6 weeks showing each student’s progress with comments.

Classes will be taught at the Art Jubilee studio at 9390 Hardin Rd.

To register for a class, please email us at chefmichele2@earthlink.net. Tell us the class, number of students, and ages of your students. We will have you fill out the necessary paperwork the first day of class.

Thank you for your interest! We look forward to seeing all of you again this spring!

Blessings,

Ed and Michele Hopkins
