In the classic fairy tale “Puss in Boots,” the youngest son of a recently dead miller inherits nothing but the granary cat. In this revised version set in the 1980s, the division of property after a grocer's death leaves his youngest child with nothing but his father’s pet cat. The son contemplates sending the animal to the pound, but the cat bargains with him, promising him riches in return for a hat and a pair of boots. Though dubious, the punk-rocking son goes along with him and provides the items.
