Hello,

I am working with Globalquerque! to bring a group called Baka Beyond to the Main Library in September. Baka Beyond is a collaborative project between musicians from the UK and Africa. They will be at the Main Library doing a community outreach program which will include a short (10 minute) film and a 40 minute presentation/discussion about the Baka hunter-gatherers from Cameroon. Subjects they will cover include myths, stories, family life, religion, music, fun & games, and the impact (both positive and negative) of their interactions with outside cultures.

This outreach program is really going to be geared towards middle and high school sage students, although all members of the public will be invited to attend. It will take place on Friday, September 21 at 10:30 a.m. in the Main Library Auditorium.

We were thinking that this might be an educational and fun field trip opportunity for home school students.

Please feel free to give me a call at the number below or send me an email if you have any questions or want to talk further about the program.

Thank you for your time!
