Los Alamos Library December Newsletter

Does anyone know if Albuquerque Library sends out a newsletter like this for all of their libraries?--Tabbi

December Newsletter – Mesa Public Library and White Rock Branch Library

Holiday Potpourri of Crafts – As part of Main Street Christmas the Mesa Public Library will again have crafts for all ages in the Youth Services department on Saturday, December 1st from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Come and make several wonderful ornaments with us.

WaL Wednesdays at the Library – We will have a craft at 2:00-3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 5th in the youth services program room. On Wednesday, December 12th we will have video gaming on the third floor from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and on Wednesday, December 19th we will have a craft from 2:00-3:30 p.m. in the youth services program room.

Science Fair Project Ideas and More – Winter Break is coming soon and this is a great time to get a head start on your 2008 Science Fair project. Our Youth Services staff and high school tutors welcome students to come to the library and help you find possible topics. We have received several new books with great projects. Our online database Facts on File has many great suggestions for your project.

Family Friendly Film Series continue at the White Rock Town Hall on Thursday, December 13 at 7:00 p.m. The movie will be Shrek the Third. Come enjoy a movie and free popcorn.
Mesa Public Library FREE Film Series will feature the film The Good Earth based on the novel by Pearl Buck. The movie will be shown on Thursday, December 6th at 6:00 p.m. in the Upstairs Meeting Room Theater.

Lace! A New Exhibit by Laurie Waters will be in the Upstairs Art Gallery from December 2-30. A special lace making demonstration will be held on Saturday, December 8th.

Youth Volunteers ages 8 and up are still needed at the Mesa Public Library. Come by today and pick up an application.

Battle of the Books cookie chats will be on December 10 at the Mesa Public Library from 4:00-5:00 p.m. and December 11 from 3:30-4:30 in White Rock.
