Come explore clay at the Harwood Art Center in our Saturday afternoon class for ages 7-12. Class starts January 19th and runs through March 8th, Saturdays, 1-3 pm. Students will form pots, fantasy animals, wind chimes, wild masks and more. Individual expression is encouraged and students will be expected to personalize their art. Traditional ceramic techniques will be taught, such as coiling, pinching, slab building, and glazing. Focus will be placed on craftsmanship and attention to detail. Each class will begin with a demonstration of the day’s project, and examples will be shown to inspire the students’ imaginations. Work will be fired and glazed and ready to take home at the end of the session. The skills learned in this class will fire the student’s imagination! A materials and kiln firing fee of $25 should be paid directly to Christine at the first class meeting. Harwood Members $115, Nonmembers $125

The Harwood is located at 7th St and Mountain Rd in the Downtown/Old Town/Wells Park neighborhood.
