FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

July 11, 2007

HARRY POTTER PARTY @ THE LIBRARY

July 21 is a big day for wizards and muggles all over the world and the fever has not bypassed Rio Rancho. The release of J.K. Rowling’s final chapter in the Harry Potter series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, has Potter fans everywhere speculating and rereading the first six installments. According to one teen, writing in to the library’s Harry Potter Prediction Center, “Dumbledore is not dead.”
The Rio Rancho Public Library is commemorating this literary holiday with a Hogwarts experience on Saturday, July 21 for children in grades four and up. Sorting will begin at 1:00pm in the library’s auditorium. Participants will first be assigned to one of the four Hogwarts student houses, and then attend classes in Divination, Defense Against the Dark Arts, Transfiguration and Potions. Immediately following classes the four houses will compete in a “House Cup” Harry Potter trivia competition (Questions will not address material from book seven). The entire Hogwarts experience will run two hours and fifteen minutes. This program is free to the public and does not require registration; to participate arrive on time. For more information contact Youth Services at 891-5013 x3032. If you are an individual with a disability who is in need of a reader, amplifier, qualified sign language interpreter or any other form of auxiliary aid or service to attend or participate in this program, please contact the City Clerk at (505)896-8708 at least 18 hours in advance to make arrangements.
