Albuquerque: Book Signing by Math Teacher on Saturday, July 7th at Title Wave Books

Teens & Parents -- Mark Your Calendars! On Saturday, July 7th from 2:30 to 4:30 pm, Title Wave Books will be hosting a book signing by local author Michele Yardumian in the store’s Community Room. This event is a great opportunity to meet the co-author and illustrator of a new fantasy novel.

“The Alliance: Book One of the Faeltheon” is a novel for readers 15 years of age and up. “Similar in reading level to the Harry Potter series, this first book of four touches on themes of courage, honor, tragedy and faith,” says Yardumian. “While this novel is clearly part of the fantasy genre, it reads more like Tolkien or C.S.Lewis in its content.

“Perhaps the most exciting and innovative aspect of this work is that it was written by three 15-year-old students and their math teacher,” Yardumian continues. “Homeschoolers, teachers, and other mentors: come and discuss with Michele creative ways to get your student writing! Young people: come and talk with her about how to get started writing or illustrating your own stories! The Alliance is easily integrated into any homeschool curriculum, providing elements of creative writing, grammar, critical thinking skills, and read-discuss-and-respond assignments. Applications to research skills and to the study of history are also available. This book would also be a valuable resource for school libraries and English teachers, too.”

This event is free and open to the public.
