Just in time for Halloween, author Malcolm Ebright weaves mind-boggling tales of witches, sorcery, spells, exorcism, curses, and battles with the Devil that occurred right here in New Mexico in the mid-1700s.
The Salem Witch Trials may be more well known, but the witch trials that took place during the establishment of the Abiquiu Genizaro land grant between 1756 and 1766 were no less polarizing or frightening. Learn more about this little-known event in New Mexico history when Mr. Ebright presents stories from the award-winning book he co-authored, The Witches of Abiquiu.
Join us Tuesday, Oct. 9 at 7:30 PM in the Pajarito Room of Fuller Lodge.
After the lecture, Mr. Ebright will sign copies of The Witches of Abiquiu, which is for sale in the Museum Bookshop for $21.95. Historical Society members receive a discount.
Don't miss our new exhibit in the Historical Museum, "Haunted Highways: Ghost Towns of New Mexico." The exhibit features 20 photographs by Ralph Looney, a long-time newspaper editor who traveled the back roads of New Mexico recording forgotten little towns.
