Richardson rolls out education plan
KOB-TV
NM - MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) - Democratic presidential hopeful Bill Richardson has unveiled a $60 billion education plan. The New Mexico governor said in Manchester, New Hampshire, that he'd provide universal pre-kindergarten programs, scrap No Child Left Behind and make public college free.
Richardson says he'd pay for the plan by cutting Cold War-era weapons systems and halt subsidies to private banks.
He says there'd still be money left over.
