FYI- The prepared boxes are at Walgreens, Applebees, Albertson's and Smith grocery store in Rio Rancho. You will see the bright yellow instruction flyer attached to the box with the Mailing label, Customs form and envelope. The box is only 11 x 8 1/2 x 5 1/2. And yes, anyone from NM can participate.
I typed up the instructions below for you in case someone has the time to make up more boxes and take them to designated areas listed above. Please call Janice for more info. on that 867-1139. They are helping the usual group in Placitas out by distrubuting 250 boxes for people to fill up. The goal was 400, but if they don't meet that amount they were told that they will go to the troops out on the field first.

HOLIDAY BOX INSTRUCTIONS FOR OUR NM TROOPS IN IRAQ
Attached to each box: Instructions, Mailing Label (with designated address), Customs Form, Customs Form Envelope
Instructions:
The package labels are addressed to the NM Air Guard Units Commander and will be distributed to troops in the Unit. To assure getting them there by the Holidays, they should be mailed by December 4th. The supplied USPS boxes have a mailing flat rate of $8.95.
Some gifts suggestions are:
Phone cards (AT &T for sure), CD's & DVD's, handheld games, batteries, books, playing cards, stationery, pens, pencils, lip balm, baby wipes, toys for Iraqi Children.
NON-PERISHABLE food items: Beef jerky, Slim Jims, power bars, hard candy, gum, nuts, dried fruit, powdered drink mixes, canned chiles and salsa, other foods with "New Mexico Flavor."
It would be nice to include a Christmas card.
Customs Form: each package requires a filled out Customs Form 2976-A attached.
