Hello Tabitha,
My name is Ken Moore and I am on the board for Theatre-In-The-Making (TiTM).
I would like to send the following information to your community of parents and students.
For over 18 years, through its Shakespeare Youth Performance Workshop, Books Alive, and PlayWrite programs, TiTM has introduced the magic of live theatre to thousands of kids, both as performers and theatregoers. Whether you are already familiar with its work, or hearing about it for the first time, I invite you and your student(s) to be part of TiTM’s 2008 season.
TiTM is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, whose programs culminate in first class productions, that delight student audiences, whether by making Shakespeare accessible or giving a voice to their concerns in original works. But the production is just the end result. The process is of - at least - equal value. Our students learn how to work joyfully together, melding into an ensemble company, to achieve a profound experience not only of theatrical development, but also - and more importantly - of individual growth. Parents and teachers alike notice that TiTM kids find motivation, discipline, self-direction, and confidence, even if theatre is not their life’s ambition.
There is a meeting on Tuesday, 20 November at SolArts Performance Space, located at 712 Central SW (2 blocks west of I-25). This meeting is to discuss the 2008 season, which is scheduled to start in January and will include Shakespeare’s “As You Like It” and a new PlayWrite session.
Please see the attached flyer.
If you’re interested but can’t make the meeting, please go to www.titm.org and/or contact co-director Bentley Clark at 505-242-2327.
Thank you for your time,
Ken Moore
