Albuquerque:More great fractal news!

Wow, two fractal messages in a row... things are getting really exciting in FractalLand!

Here's some terrific news I want to share. We have just received a grant from Albuquerque Community Foundation to bring our fantastic fulldome fractal shows into the schools in Albuquerque! How can we possibly bring a fulldome planetarium experience to a school, you may wonder? Well, we've partnered with an astronomy education outreach group that has a portable inflatable dome! It's not as big as the dome at the Natural History Museum, but it will allow us to take the same dramatic, dynamic visual experience into school gymnasiums or cafeterias, and inspire the heck out of Albuquerque's students. Fractals make math come to life, and we are so excited about the opportunity to bring this inspiring education to more and more young people. We now have funding to bring 35 shows into elementary and middle schools in Albuquerque. I know there's a lot of teachers (and parents) on this list, so if you'd like to find out about bring this show to your school this fall... please contact me. And HUGE thanks to Albuquerque Community Foundation for helping make this possible!

Ok, I announced the new ticket procedure for First Friday Fractals yesterday, and it seems to be working smoothly, as almost a hundred people have already gotten their tickets for Friday's show. One slight clarification: it turns out that ticket sales will shut off 4 hours before each show, not the first show as I'd stated. In other words, you'll still be able to buy tickets for the 8:00 show up until 4PM (if there's any left). You can order them at: http://www.museumtix.com/venue/program.asp?vid=713&pid=1352019

One other yummy piece of news to share: The Museum Cafe will be staying open till 8:00 on Friday night to accommodate visitors to the show. And you know what? It's a darn good cafe! So if you want dinner and a fractal show, you know where to go!

Thanks again, and I look forward to seeing a bunch of you tomorrow.
