Thanks to 516ARTS @ the Not Back to School Fair

This gallery is definitely a hidden gem for those of us out of the art loop, it is located in downtown Albuquerque right on Central! My kids and I went to visit and I was surprised to find that they got close to the painting and art and really investigated and were interested in the things that made up the exhibits. We plan on going again and hope that more homeschooling families can visit as they are offering curriculum and tours of their gallery. They are even looking for teens for internship opportunities in running a gallery! Thanks so much to Bryan for bringing this gallery to our attention and coming to our Not Back to School Fair!

516 ARTS

http://www.516arts.org/

516 ARTS is a non-profit arts venue exhibiting local, national, and
international professional artists. We showcase everything from
traditional art forms to cutting edge contemporary, with special
events like openings, poetry readings, and artist talks. For teachers
and educators we offer arts curriculum designed to create
interdisciplinary discourse. The curriculum includes powerpoint
slideshows of exhibitions, project ideas, discussion questions and
student worksheets. During group visits 516 ARTS staff engage groups in
discussion as opposed to the traditional idea of a "tour". We are
currently seeking to expand our programs for youth, including mural
projects on our alley wall and internship opportunities.
