Information: Yahoo to remove Bouncing Members

This was posted today on the Yahoo Groups Moderators Blog:

"If you've noticed a change in the total number of members in your
group, don't fret; we're cleaning up long time bouncing members. In
the first phase of this clean up we're removing just email-only
group members whose email addresses have been bouncing for more than
a year.

In the next phase of the clean up we'll focus on web-access members
whose emails have been bouncing for more than a year. If you have
members that fit this description encourage them to update their
membership with a valid email address.

"Bouncing," if you do not know, means that your email address with
which you are subscribed to a group is no longer valid, and that
emails sent by YG have returned as undeliverable. If you are
reading this, you are reading it on the web page, since YG has
stopped sending you email. Up to now, YG has not removed bouncing
addresses from groups, so that you still have been able to access
your group on the web using your Yahoo ID and password. That will
end soon. Unless you change your address to a valid one, YG will
remove you from your groups.

To add a valid email address go to http://groups.yahoo.com/mygroups
and click on Email Preferences at the top right. Then click Add
Email Address at the top left. Follow the prompts. You will have
to respond to a verification email from YG at that address. Once
it's verified you can go back to MyGroups, click on Edit My Groups
and change your email address with any of your groups using the drop
down boxes. Don't forget to click Save Changes.
