Apparently, the information we initially received was from an individual who no longer worked with the materials warehouse and his information was outdated below is the correct information:
I spoke with Paul Griegos today (APS,848-8852) he informed me that the materials are held in the yard for a given amount of days required by the state and then given to auction houses. He said to call the auction houses.

APS Materials Warehouse - 912 Oak Street - Salvage yard outside. Free tables, student desks, teacher desks and more. Best time to stop by is the end and start of school year. They are open Monday - Friday from 7am-3pm. Materials will be donated to any non-profit organization or person.
Directions: Exit I-25 on Lead/Coal. Turn left onto Coal. Turn right onto Mulberry. Go through Gates. Blue Building just south of Milney Stadium.
Spoke with them today and they have lots of middle school and high school combo desks. They expect to get in other materials mid August.
