Hi Tabitha,
We are still trying to recruit teen leaders for the science cafe program. I've put together another flyer describing the program a little better (I hope). The next meeting is scheduled for Thursday September 20th at 5:30pm. One of the perks to being on the leadership team is participation in leadership training.
Planning this program brought up an interesting question regarding programming in general: Is it okay (or perhaps preferable?) to schedule activities on Sunday? We tend not to, but realized that the particular demographic we're seeking are very busy and eliminating an entire day of the week for possible meetings/events seemed extravagant, however I want to respect that families may have set aside that particular day for other more important purposes. Please have folks respond to me regarding their preference for activities/no activities on Sunday.
And thanks for spreading the word on this program! I'll keep you informed as to future Home School opportunities here at the museum.
