TEST DATES and DEADLINES
Next ACT: October 27 at LAHS, regular deadline 9/21 http://www.actstudent.org

PSAT: October 17, No school (senior conferences only).
Testing for sophomores and juniors, information should have been distributed through English classes. The fee for juniors is $17.00 this year.
The NM Public Education Department is requiring sophomores to take the PSAT and is covering the cost for sophomores who are currently enrolled at LAHS. Consequently, transportation will be available to and from LAHS that morning for both sophomores and juniors.
PLAN: The PLAN test will again be available to sophomores at a cost of $17.00 each. A registration form will be given to sophomores along with the PSAT information.

NMSU – On-site admission Wednesday, September 26, 11:00 – 2:00. Students may sign up at the Registrar’s window for appointments, should request an official transcript, including test scores, for on-site admission at the time they sign up, and should bring a completed application with them to their appointment. Students must specify on-site admission at the time they request their transcript, as it will be picked up for review by our admissions representative on the morning of the 26th, prior to the start of the on-site appointments. Both the application fee and the LAHS transcript fee are waived for on-site applications.

UNM BA/MD Program
New deadline for this program is November 15, all tests must have been taken by that date as well. Accepted students are guaranteed a position in the UNM School of Medicine on graduation from UNM. The intent of the program is to train students as physicians who are likely to practice medicine in New Mexico, especially in under-resourced counties. Applicants should have high test scores and GPA.

Employment
Los Alamos County HR staff will be in the A-Wing Lobby between 12:00 and 2:00 on Friday, September 14. There are several openings in the Recreation Department which are appropriate for LAHS students. Staff will have applications for students to fill out and will be on hand to answer questions about employment with LAC.
