Alamagordo: X prize cup activities for kids Oct 26 at Holloman AFB

We plan on doing about 6000 launches that day-3000 Estes and 3000 water bottles.

All school groups or educational organizations interested in participating in the Wirefly X PRIZE Cup Education Day program (October 26th) can now register on our website. Please see: http://space.xprize.org/x-prize-cup/explore/ for details about the education day program. The "registration" tab on this section has a downloadable document that you must fill out and return to Joshua@xprize.org in order to sign up for the program.

Details on the X PRIZE Cup Education Day Program: The Wirefly X PRIZE Cup Education Day is free to any group of 3 or more students. This includes Public, Private and Home schools, as well as student organizations and clubs such as the Boy Scouts, CAP., Astronomy club, etc.

By participating in this Education Day program you will:

· Allow your students to take part in our unique onsite rocket activities for grades 5-8,
· Receive free Exploration Guides for each student and teacher that contains activities designed to connect your classroom with your X PRIZE Cup experience,
· Be able to listen to special astronaut presentations at the X PRIZE Cup,
· Be able to explore numerous ground exhibits and activities designed to excite your students in all STEM area,
· Be able to watch as our Lunar Lander Challenge teams practice for their competition,
· Be able to see numerous Air Force assets practicing their live flights for the next two days,
· Receive information packets with details about all aspects of your Education Day experience,

Pete Conrad Spirit of Innovation Award: If you are an educator of high school aged students, please remember that to sign up a team to compete for the coveted Pete Conrad Spirit of Innovation Award with over $24,000 of award money available you must register each team separately at: http://space.xprize.org/x-prize-cup/conrad_award/ There are now 3 weeks left for students to submit their award concepts for this competition.

Sponsor a School Grants: The X PRIZE Foundation has initiated a “Sponsor a School Campaign” in an effort to help secure travel funding for the schools wanting to attend and for the cost of running our program. Through this campaign we will be able to provide a limited number of travel grants to schools (of up to $500). All schools registered and desiring a grant will be notified if one can be provided by October 2nd.

The number of grants we can provide is limited by the number of companies that participate in this campaign. The Wirefly X Prize is really cool. I think it's great that you're going to be there.
