American Girls @ the Library!
Girls in grades 3-6 can experience a little of Civil War era life with Addy (of the American Girls Series of books) at the Loma Colorado Public Library on September 6 from 4:15-5:45.
Addy’s family is split apart by slavery just as the nation was, but she and her Momma have made their way to freedom in Philadelphia in 1864. Girls can see what its like to grow up in Addy’s world by making a portable sewing kit, listening to stories, playing games, and tasting some foods of the times.
Registration begins August 27 in person or by phone 891-5013, ext 3032.
CHESS FOR KIDS @ the library!
Kids are invited to play a quiet game of chess in the children’s area of the Loma Colorado Public Library on Tuesdays from 4:30-5:30 pm starting on September 18. Kids should bring their own board if they have one; the library has some to share. Some instruction will be available if needed. For more information, call Youth Services at 891-5013, ext 3032.
Kids’ collections @ the library!
Kids, if you have collections you’d like other children to see and enjoy, the Loma Colorado Public Library has a display case just waiting for you. So far the library has had several rock collections, pine cones, stamps, and dinosaurs. It would be great to have dolls, toys, cars, whatever kids collect and would like to display for a month-long exhibit. Call Youth Services at 891-5013, ext 3032 and let us know what you’ve got!
