Try Rosetta Stone Language Program - Guaranteed 6 months

To: A2Zhomeschool@yahoogroups.com

Introduce your whole family to learning a new language for only $299!

Normally, as part of our contract with the publisher, Sonlight cannot
offer discounts on the Rosetta Stone foreign language software
programs. So I'm excited to let you know that right now, for a short
time, you CAN save money.

In fact, you can save as much as $129. Compared to buying one of the
Rosetta Stone Level 1 programs for $199, and then later picking up
Level 2 for another $229, the two levels combined as a set for $339
(the regular price) would save you $89.00. But from now until June 30,
2007 you can choose any two-level set for only $299, and save another $40.

If you think you may want to add a language-learning elective to your
school year, or you've been considering diving into a new language
yourself... then now is a great time to order one of these easy and
effective programs for your Windows or Mac computer.

To pick out your next new language during this limited promotion,
check out a complete list of Rosetta Stone programs (including these
two-level sets) on Sonlight's website at the llink below...

A true story about the power of new words...

A few years ago, a friend of mine spent several weeks in Guangzhou,
China, helping local engineers perfect an electronic component. With
no time to truly learn Mandarin before he left, Bob dove into a pile
of phrase books hoping to at least master some basics he would need.
That didn't work too well.

"Honestly, I learned more by just listening, responding and
practicing," he said. What I got to see in the years that followed was
the impact Bob could make in the lives of Chinese Americans all around
us, by using a powerful phrase in Mandarin.

"Xie-xie," he said whenever the slightest opening presented itself.

It means "thank you." Though it's the only Mandarin I know, I still
love offering it liberally in my new, richly diverse home city of
Denver, Colorado. I also know "thank you" in Spanish (gracias) and
German (danke), the two languages I would like to add to my native
English.

But for me, this power to "connect" with others in their own
language--just a little bit--makes me want to ask, "How much more
could I do with more words, with a better understanding of how to use
them?"

I need the process of learning a new language to be easy (and
extremely motivating), and so I see Rosetta Stone as my best choice.

It's a lot like the way you learned your first language--by "natural
immersion." And it works.

As children, we all learned our native language by natural immersion.
We listened and compared as words and sentences turned from mysterious
gibberish into thoughts, feelings and ideas. The simple "secret" to
Rosetta Stone's success is in how it creates high involvement and
motivation in students as they learn this way.

Each self-paced lesson guides students through a simple task--they
match words and phrases with images on their computer screen. Moving
steadily toward complete and complex sentences, students are drawn in
to the game-like lessons. Rosetta Stone is loaded with auditory,
visual, and informative feedback that encourages learners to push
themselves for improved scores and times. Instead of "How much longer
do I have to do this?" from your students, imagine hearing, "I'll bet
I can do it better or faster!"

This natural approach seems a great match for Sonlighters, and many
parents agree; here's a recent comment from a mom on the Sonlight Forums:

"Rosetta Stone definitely allows your children to learn on their own.
Show them how to use it, and walk away. They learn more by exploring
then by having you sit by them. With other programs, my son was so
discouraged that I couldn't leave his side. He had no clue what he was
listening to. I had to spend a lot of time looking words up.

"The Rosetta Stone computer program is absolutely fascinating. It even
held mine and my husband's attention for a good hour together. It
works on every single element of language study--speech, reading,
writing, and listening. And the program keeps track of everyone's
scores for you.

"You get to hear female and male voices, older and younger voices... I
was able to understand everyone I heard. So my recommendation--no
contest whatsoever! If you want something that will genuinely teach
your child a new language, you won't go wrong with Rosetta Stone."
