Albuquerque: Cafe Scientifique Meeting--1/8 Tuesday--Teens!!

Yes this is the program that is running in Los Alamos among other places and now it is coming here! I know many of you emailed me with interest in whether it was running here and now it is so please attend the informational meeting tomorrow!--Tabbi

Hi Tabitha,

My name is Jen Richter, and I am the Albuquerque
Coordinator for Cafe Scientifique. If you have a chance,
please pass the word on to your homeschool students about
our next meetings. We're having a leadership meeting next
Tuesday, January 8th, at the Museum Cafe at 3 p.m. The
leadership meeting is for teens who are interested in
planning the speaker meetings. Responsibilities include
outreach and marketing, planning the venues and menus,
introducing the speakers, and audio/visual setup and
recording.

This is all in preparation for our first official Cafe,
which will be on January 23rd at 6 p.m. Our topic for the
evening will be "The Race for the HIV Vaccine," and it
will take place at the M Cafe at the Natural History
Museum. We will have a different topic every month,
ranging from the origins of the universe to global climate
change. For more info, you can check out the website at
. The Cafes are open to any teens who are
interested, and we offer incentives for carpooling, as
well as free food (which I think is always a good draw for
teenagers...).

Please let me know if you have any questions, and thanks
for spreading the word!
Jen
